toBlackberry vs Viigo and other RSS Aggregators

When we have launched toBlackberry.com (Push based RSS feeds) many people asked us why a push based RSS aggregations when there are plenty others already established in the market. I have explained them few points and jotting them out here for everyone else too on why you should use toBlackberry Push based service.

  1. If, third party applications are blocked by your operator e.g. Airtel, TATA, Reliance and Vodafone offers Rs. 299/- lite plan which only allows you to receive unlimited e-mails and messenger usage.
  2. Applications like Viigo, ubertwitter and other uses pull based mechanism which unnecessarily drain battery even though there is no new content available. While in the case of our toBlackberry you will get a push when a new content is available.
  3. No need to install application on another device when you change your old one.
  4. Interface is available via Blackberry browser.
  5. No charges, free forever
  6. No need to go through to many menus to open the application

Blackberry PIN Exchange

We all love Blackberry and you will hardly find a person who once used a Blackberry and didn’t fall in love with it. Blackberry has many features but all features has some cons (may be it is there way to allow third parties to earn some mulaha (money)).

Each Blackberry comes with a Blackberry Messenger where you can chat and transfer files or voice with your buddies. It is a very cool tool to share things and get in touch with your co-workers but Blackberry is no more a “Professional or Business Only Device” and many individuals are subscribing to their services.

To add a friend in your BBM (Blackberry Messenger) you need to know your friends e-mail ID or PIN number (which you can find under Option > Status > PIN or by typing mypin on any text area).

There are many websites which provide PIN Exchange threads like Facebook PIN Exchange application, Blackberryforums, Crackberry but all of them have some major limitations like for facebook app you need to be a registered user of a facebook and searching is not possible in it. While forum based exchange threads hardly get successful because the growing number of pages with PIN requests and inability of searching PINs of your interest.

TATA Indicom launches MLite 299 Blackberry plan

TATA Indicom Blackberry subscribers can now enjoy the Blackberry Services at Rs. 299. TATA Indicom today announced the launch of the new Tata Indicom MaiLite data plan for BlackBerry service subscribers. This new Silver data plan provides customers with UNLIMITED data for accessing up to 10 supported email accounts, plus an optional BlackBerry email address, and popular instant messaging (IM) services at the low monthly rate of Rs. 299.

The MaiLite is a new rate plan available for the BlackBerry 8830 and BlackBerry 8703e smartphones. The BlackBerry 8703e,  is available from Tata Indicom for  Rs.9990

Airtel and RIM bring the BlackBerry Curve 8520 Smartphone a.ka. Gemini to India. And whats the most incredible thing about this phone is the price. Blackberry phones are usually known for their expensive price tag. But the Gemini breaks the myth and is priced at Rs.15990. The phone is aimed at youth and consumers looking for messaging / email , social networking , music and entertainment.
