RIM working on WiFi calling

RIM will be updating the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System to v5 which will add voice over Wi-Fi calling to the solution along with other features. This is a huge deal and will really spur adoption for the system. The new MVS v5.0 will also let you make Voice calls over Wi-Fi even if you do not have a cellular voice plan on your BlackBerry.

Cisco releases WebEx blackberry client

WebEx Meeting Center on BlackBerry smartphones includes:

  • The ability to view presentations and applications from anyone’s desktop.

  • Host features (start a meeting and make another participant the presenter)

  • Integrated audio

  • Public and private chat

  • Participant list view

Scheduling a meeting, inviting attendees to a meeting, and presenting from a BlackBerry smartphone are not supported in this release.

Installation instructions.

Step 1: Download desired OS to your PC from the above link.
Step 2: Install and complete the setup process to have the OS installed.
Step 3: Remember to delete vendor.xml file if your carrier the OS is not from your carrier.
Step 4: Do a comprehensive backup in case anything goes wrong.
Step 5: Connect the device to your PC and click on the Loader and let the process initiate. Loader can be found in the same folder as the vendor.xml file.
Step 6: Do not unplug the Bold during the process. Process may take around 30-60 minutes to complete.
