8220 flip no more available

Either RIM need to educate their distributors in India or they should change  their marketing agency (specially those who handle their Google ad campaigns). Some time ago when Bold 9000 was not launched in India they were promoting that on Google (for RIM’s Indian site) and link will take you to some other handset’s page now they are promoting FLIP 8220 which is not available anywhere in Indian market and most of the stores told us that this handset is no more available for sale.

Wake up RIM!!

RIM launches new Blackberry App World

App World 2.0 will allow users to add the cost of purchases to their monthly mobile phone, in addition to the existing option of paying via PayPal.

RIM plans to almost all BlackBerry users to pay via their monthly mobile bill by the year 2011.

App World 2.0, which was first revealed a few months ago, is set to include a number of new features, including support for QR Bar Codes and an updated search function.

The most significant update is the introduction of a new BlackBerry ID, which will enable users to transfer applications from one device to another, rather than having to pay for a new copy.

ECG on Blackberry

Indian healthcare equipment vendor Maestros Mediline Systems Limited has launched a mobile ECG application that can enable doctors to receive real-time heart data of patients from their Blackberries over the Vodafone network.

The system, called eUNO R10, has patients with a special set of wrist electrodes connect to the eUNO BlackBerry app, which records and uploads cardiac data to the server. From the server, the data is automatically pushed to the BlackBerry of a doctor (who need not be in the hospital), to analyze the data.  A diagnosis whether the patient is having a heart attack (or a more mild incident such as an angina), and quickly prescribe the appropriate medicines and/or courses of action—all far more quickly than could be done previously.

For now, the service has launched with one hospital (Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital), one carrier and with one smartphone platform. We bet other hospitals, carriers, and smartphone makers will jump in as well in coming months.
